As a patient of Dr. Jusino's, you know that popcorn is one of the #1 food items that harm braces. Here is an idea to keep this crunchy snack out of the cupboard and away from your brackets during the holiday.
Popcorn Ornament
1. Heat sugar, corn syrup, margarine, salt and food coloring (if you want to make all different colors) in a four quart, heavy, metal pan over medium high heat. Stir constantly until simmering. Be careful to not overheat and allow to come to a full boil.
2. Remove from heat and add popcorn and stir until popcorn is well coated. Cool slightly. Make sure the mixture is cool enough to handle with your hands, but still soft enough to mold.
3. Shape into 2 and a half inch balls and place on wax paper. Allow popcorn balls to cool completely. About one hour.
